Jane Dill has been a freelance calligrapher and lettering artist for over 30 years. Before moving to Santa Fe, she lived and worked in San Francisco, where she studied extensively with renown calligrapher, Thomas Ingmire, as well as teachers in Europe and the U.S.
Jane now specializes in commercial hand lettering for logos, headlines, product identity, book covers, wine labels and film. Her work has been published in Letter Arts Review and Print Magazine, as well as several books on hand lettering, and she has won awards from the New York Art Directors Club, the San Francisco Show and the Santa Fe Addy Awards. Jane has exhibited throughout California, and in New York, Chicago, Italy, Belgium and Santa Fe. She has taught at several of the annual international calligraphy conferences and lectured at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, the European Callitype Symposium in Belgium, and at the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI) in San Francisco.
Jane’s clients include The Santa Fe Opera, Pepsi, Williams Sonoma, Disney Corporation, Kraft, Lipton Foods, Harcourt, Inc., Safeway, the NRDC, Albertsons, Wells Fargo Bank, and several wineries. In Santa Fe, Jane has hand lettered the logos for the Pushkin Gallery, Amaya at the Hotel Santa Fe, The Santa Fe Botanical Garden, Los Santeros, the Santa Fe Community Foundation, The Galisteo Inn, Feido Films and Media 333.
Jane and her husband Roger have recently relocated to Mexico. She is continuing with fw graphic designs, just a mouse click away, as a part time associate.
